Frequently Asked Questions

Okay, maybe not frequent per se, but this is a place for me to answer general questions that have come up.

• Who are you?
  I'm a middle-aged tech worker, solidly in Generation X. I'm one of the whitest people you'd ever meet. I'm extremely liberal, both socially and fiscally. I'm married, cisgendered, mostly heterosexual, and monogamous, with three adult sons, the oldest of whom is trans. I have ADHD and am not shy about telling people about it.

• Which celebrity do you most resemble?
  The celebrity I've been most frequently told I resemble is Benny Hill.
  I really, really wasn't joking when I said I was one of the whitest people you'd ever meet.

• What does the X stand for?
  To steal a line from Terry Pratchett, it stands for "Someone with a cool and interesting middle initial".

• Mostly heterosexual?
  If I spend a day at, say, Disneyland, I will probably see at least a dozen women who make me think, 'Holy fuck, she's hot'. I have had that sort of experience with, like, three people that I knew at the time were male. Ever, in my entire life. Within roundoff error, I'm heterosexual.

• What tools do you use?
  I do all my writing in Scrivener, which has been described as an Integrated Development Environment for writers. I do 3D renders in DAZ 3D Studio using models from DAZ, Renderotica, Renderosity, and various other places. I do modeling for 3D printing in Autodesk Fusion 360 (the free version). I do audio recording and editing in Audacity.

• What do you do other than create porn?
  All sorts of things. I write non-porn works, including over half a million words of fanfic, and I've won NaNoWriMo three times. I play games of all sorts. I take pictures. I cook. I run half-marathons, slowly.

• How long have you been kinky?
  I have distinct memories of being interested in seeing women tied up since the age of 6 or 7. I literally do not remember a time when I did not like seeing women restrained in some way.

• That young? Seriously?
  Seriously. I remember being completely fascinated by the Charlie's Angels lunchbox that a girl at my bus stop had. One side had a picture with Kris (Cheryl Ladd's character) tied to a post, and it was just...riveting. I would have been about 7 at the time. I suspect I had already realized my interests were unusual, because I never said anything about this to anyone. I just...looked. Other things I remember from around the same time include a Dukes of Hazzard episode with Bo tied to the bad guys' Jeep - I remember wishing it were Daisy instead.

• Were your parents or other family members kinky?
  Not that I ever knew of. I grew up in a semi-rural area in the 1970s. Bondage wasn't a thing I knew other people were interested in until much later.
